I currently work at Greenoaks Capital, an investment firm based in San Francisco.
My writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Globe & Mail, USA Today, and elsewhere.
I previously served as the principal advisor for US relations and defence to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and worked as a consultant at McKinsey.
I attended Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar, and before that read a lot of books at Princeton and Pearson College.
In a former life, I spent most of my time thinking about philosophy and ethics. My academic research has been discussed or included in a variety of venues, including the Oxford Handbook of Consequentialism, the Routledge Handbook of Animal Ethics, and Politics and Religion (Cambridge University Press).
